Q: How can I become a member of Access Community Credit Union?

A: Becoming a member is easy. If you live, work, worship, or go to school in Potter or Randall counties of the State of Texas, you are eligible to join. Also if you are an employee of an affiliated business or the relative of a member, all it takes to join is opening an individual or joint share (savings) account with at least a $5.00 deposit.

Q: Can my family members join Access Community Credit Union?

A: Yes. Family members related by blood or marriage are eligible for membership.

Q: Does Access Community Credit Union have competitive rates for savings?

A: Access Community Credit Union monitors the financial market place to ensure our dividend rates remain competitive. Our savings products include: Share Accounts, Certificates of Deposit and IRA's.

Q: Does ACCU have checking accounts?

A: Yes. Members enjoy the extensive benefits of AcuChecking, which include: No monthly fee, competitive dividend, overdraft protection, direct deposit, and carbonless check copies. We also have "Full Service Membership" available with added benefits.

Q: If I move away can I still be a member of ACCU?

A: Yes. Members are still eligible if they move from the area. Once a member, always a member.

Q: Are my savings insured at ACCU?

A: The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), is a U.S. government agency, federally insures accounts up to $100,000. Beginning this year, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA's) are insured up to $250,000.

Q: What about ATM's?

A: Access Community Credit Union offers ATM card services currently at 16 "No Charge" locations.

Q: Are ACCU's consumer loan rates competitive?

A: Our loan rates are always competitve and interest is charged only on the unpaid balance, not the original amount of the loan. There is no penalty for early repayment, and there are no "hidden" charges.

Q: Can I get a credit card through ACCU?

A: Access Community Credit Union offers Classic, Gold and Platinum MasterCard as well as VISA to help meet your financial needs.

Q: Can I get information on my account electronically?

A: With 'Virtual Branch' Home Banking and the AcuSTAR System, members can obtain account information from virtually anywhere using a computer or a touch-tone phone. Members may also make loan payments and transfers to their other ACCU accounts, as well as view cleared checks.

Q: Do you have Online Bill Pay?

A: Access Community Credit Union has available Home Banking Bill Pay at no cost to our members. Pay your bills at your convenience. Your merchants can be set up one time, making monthly bill paying a breeze.

Q: What other services does ACU offer me as a member?

A: In addition to share accounts and "Free" checking, Access Community Credit Union also offers Access CheckCard- debit cards, Certificates of Deposit, IRA's, Safe Deposit boxes, extended office hours on Monday and Friday to 5:30, as well as four drive-thru lanes with extended hours. We have many types of loans, Virtual Lending on the Web, payroll deduction, financial counseling, consumer information and car cost guides, notary services, and a convenient location.

Q. Can I check my Access Community Credit Union credit card balance electronically?

A. Yes. You can check your balance by clicking here. You can also may payments thru your Home Banking site from your savings or checking accounts here at Access Community Credit Union.
